Android Trojan (Geinimi)

Android Trojan (Geinimi) may steal personal data



Android world is seeing a sophisticated Trojan named “ Geinimi “ which may send personal data to remote computers. As per some initial reports, this Trojan emerged in China thru some third party android app market. This Trojan malware or virus is this kind of first malware for android devices which is a serious threat for users who install apps from third party app markets. This Trojan can receive commands from remote server and that may really create problem for the user. Once this Trojan will infect your android phone, you may receive a prompt for installing some unwanted apps as well.

You are playing safe and secured. But in case you or your friends with Android phones are installing apps specially from some Chinese app markets, then you are more likely to get this Trojan in your Android phone or tablet.

As per the website which revealed this Trojan information, this malware can send your location, device identifiers (IMEI and IMSI) and list of installed apps on your phone. This is scary and that’s why we suggest to install apps from Android official app market available on your Android phone.
